The Calathea Dottie (Calathea roseopicta ‘Dottie’) is a tropical foliage plant native to South America, known for its deep, almost black-green oval leaves outlined in vivid pink. Like all prayer plants, the leaves fold upward at night and open again in the morning in response to light. Grows up to 30–60 cm indoors. Safe for pets and children.

Care Light — Bright to medium indirect light. Avoid direct sun to preserve leaf colour. Water — Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top 1–2 cm feels slightly dry. Filtered or rainwater preferred. Humidity — Prefers high humidity. Place on a pebble tray or mist a few times a week. Temperature — 18–27°C. Keep away from cold drafts and air-conditioning vents. Fertiliser — Once a month during the growing season with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. Difficulty — Moderate.

This plant arrives repotted into a light green earthenware pot (diameter 15 cm) — clean rounded form with a pigmented powder-coated finish. For indoor use only. Drainage hole included.
